How affiliate links work here

Backup Watts is reader-supported. When a product guide includes a link to a retailer such as Amazon or a manufacturer’s own store, that link may be an affiliate link. If you click it and make a purchase, the retailer may pay us a small percentage of the sale.

  • The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be without our link.
  • Affiliate links are marked, and outbound product links carry the rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" attributes required by search engines.
  • When a product has no affiliate agreement in place, its link is a normal link, or there is no link at all.

What commissions do not do

Commissions do not decide which products appear in our guides, the order they appear in, or what we write about them. Products are chosen with the method described on the How we evaluate page, and the “limitation” line for each product is there precisely because no product is right for everyone.

We do not accept payment for reviews, we do not publish sponsored posts, and we do not add fake ratings or awards.

Amazon Associates

If and when this site joins the Amazon Associates program, the exact statement required by the program’s operating agreement will appear in the footer of every page, as that agreement requires.
